Bobsliegh


Day off tomorrow, high tailed it up to Whistler after work today to catch the Men's Skeleton. Going skiing during the day then Men's and Woman's skeleton final in the evening. That's what I call a day off!

TV compound

This is an outside broadcast truck. The director and engineers squeeze in and mix pictures from dozens of cameras. The finished live show is transmitted to the Inernational Broadcast Centre where all of the live shows from all of the sports venues are broadcast to the world.

Vancouver by night

Hello,

Here are a few pictures taken downtown, there is something happening on every street. Our Olympic accreditation allows us to travel for free on the Vancouver public transport system




Railcam

Here is a clip of the railcam.





It has a top speed of 72kph and requires 2 people to operate it (myself and a collegue) and a further 4 crew members to maintain it for the 2 weeks of the games. They are electical, software, engineering and microwave link experts.
